Mr. Baseball, Bob Uecker gets funnier with age

Last night as Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker and Reds radio announcer Marty Brennaman chatted live on the air, it became quite apparent that Uecker, formely known as Mr. Baseball to a different generation, had no such thoughts of retirement.

Brennaman will call his final Cincinnati Reds game today on the radio ending a 46-year career. Retirement from a Hall of a Fame baseball career indeed.

Uecker, 85, is also enshrined in Cooperstown (as a broadcaster despite his illustrious playing career). When asked by Brennaman’s son, Thom, the Red’s TV play-by-play guy, if he would consider going the route of retirement, Uecker said he planned on staying. Uecker doesn’t want to quit and wants to go out with the mic in front of him.

And it was Uecker who celebrated with the boys in the clubhouse after the Brewers clinched a playoff spot. Check out the videos below.
