So far, the Washington Nationals have all the Mojo working against the Houston Astros in the 2019 World Series

The Nationals clearly have the momentum headed into Game 2 Wednesday night in Houston.

As much as baseball appears to be about matchups and analytics, (2019 has heard a record number of “game of inches” being uttered), it really comes down to momentum.

Entering Game 1 of the 2019 World Series baseball people, fans, media, bettors and the like all had the Astros as heavy favorites. In fact, the Nationals were the biggest underdogs since the Colorado Rockies. Some of us don’t even remember the Rockies being in a World Series.

After coming from the Wild Card spot in the National League going through a hot Brewers team, an uber-talented Dodgers squad and then clean sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals, the Nationals do not fear the Astros.

The only contingent that was in love with the Astros was the contingent that hoped just for a moment that truly great starting pitching would be an automatic World Series victory. Well guess what? It may be but so does a hot-hitting 20-year old Juan Soto who went 3-for-4 Tuesday night with a fourth-inning home run and a fifth-inning two-RBI double to give Washington the win.

The Nationals are the hot team right now with clear focus who are playing the loose, nothing to lose, winning baseball that could very well end up in a title.
