Tiger Woods opening round at the Quail Hollow Championship Thursday was disappointing, he shot two over par 74.

Woods, made four birdies nine pars, but on holes 17,18 and 1 he shot a combined four over par, finishing with four bogeys on the day and one double-bogey on the 17th hole.

Woods hit 50% of greens in regulation and his driving accuracy was just 28%.

In short Woods missed everything. He said he'll try to forget his opening round. And not force the issue, a bit of a change from his approach following bad rounds in years past.

" I'm not going to the range today," Woods said. "Hell with it."

"I'm just going to go hang it up today and come out tomorrow."

"The fairways are hard to hit out here," Woods added." "There's not going to be a lot of guys hitting a lot of fairways here. Never have been, not with them cut down and fast like this. You'll see most of the guys be pretty aggressive; Angel especially today, he's driving every hole because there's really no rough down there. If you get it going that way, you can get it going pretty good."

Woods, Angel Cabrera and Stewart Cink will tee-off Friday at 12:50 p.m ET.
