Report: Knicks, Nuggets interested in Camby

Feb 9th, 2010 | 9:29 am |

Los Angeles Clippers center Marcus Camby (23) beats Chicago Bulls center Aaron Gray (34) to a rebound during game in Los Angeles CA.

Traditionally the period between the Super Bowl and the All-Star game has been the hot stove of NBA trades, it hasn’t been the case this year. An impending 2010 off-season with teams looking to clear space and the clear contenders with rosters they are ready to rumble with mean that we may not say much action on the NBA trade wire.

A new name that has crept into the discussion is Marcus Camby, he’s a rebounding machine and can of course play defense and block shots. CBS Sports reports that the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets are interested in the services of Camby. The Knicks only interest would be Camby’s expiring contract. The Nuggets on the other hand seem to be looking to bolster their front line, in order to stop the likes of A’mare Stoudimire, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol come playoff time.

This season Camby, who is 35, is averaging 12.1 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game.
