Which of course is no surprise, it's the league's marquee game and a giant revenue producer for the two schools. But Delany failed to confirm whether or not the game will be moved from its traditional last game of the year spot on the calendar to October should Ohio State and Michigan be placed in opposite divisions beginning next year. It appears they may, in order to maintain a 'competitive balance'. If Ohio State and Michigan are in opposite divisions then they could possibly meet in the Big Ten Championship game the following week, after their traditional end of the season matchup. But the odds of Michigan and Ohio State playing back to back weeks are very slim given the current state of the Michigan football program. Here is an easy solution. Flex scheduling. Until Michigan gives us any evidence they have a shot of being one of the Top 2 teams in the league, keep the Ohio State and Michigan game in Nov. If Rich Rodriguez turns things around, then maybe consider a move. Perhaps, make an agreement with two other schools, say a Wisconsin and Minnesota who could flip flop opponents with Ohio State and Michigan on the schedule prior to the start of the season if there is any real concern Michigan could get to the title game. But for now, Ohio State and Michigan won't have to worry about facing each other in consecutive weeks.
