All five starters scored in double figures for the Sixers while the Warriors had just one starter in double digits (Stephen Curry, 14 points). With the 117-101 victory, the Sixers move to 6-18 on the year and stop a 12-game losing streak.
The Sixers were led with strong performances by Thaddeus Young and Allen Iverson. Young scored 26 points and 14 rebounds while Iverson scored 20 points for the second consecutive game. Sunday Iverson had 55 CC’s of fluid drained from his knee. Rookie Jru Holiday also added 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Sixers.
Philadelphia outscored the Warriors 56-24 in the paint and outrebounded the Warriors by 33.
Warriors guard Monta Ellis struggled only scoring eight points on 3 of 14 shooting.
Golden State hosts San Antonio Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. ET. Philadelphia plays the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday in Philly at 7:00 ET.
