Kaman replaces Brandon Roy at All-Star game

Los Angeles Clippers center Chris Kaman will replace injured West All-Star guard Brandon Roy (right hamstring strain) of the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game in Dallas the NBA announced Monday. This will be the first All-Star nod for Kaman.

Clipper appearances at the All-Star game have been few and far between.

Kaman is JUST the ninth Clipper in franchise history to be selected to the All-Star game and the first since Elton Brand in 2006. Kaman becomes the third Clipper All-Star since 1993, joining Brand (2002, 2006) and Danny Manning (1993, 1994).

Kaman,is averaging a career-high 20.2 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 49.7 percent from the field (370-745). He’s the Clippers leader in scoring (887) and double-doubles (19) in 2009-10,

The NBA All-Star Game will take place at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 14 from Dallas, Texas.
