Numerous Media outlets including the Detroit Free Press are reporting that the Detroit Pistons have a deal in place for both guard Ben Gordon and forward Charlie Villanuva.
The deals are both 5 year deals, the Gordon contract is reported to be $55 million and Villanueva’s $35 million
Villannueva, 24, is a 3rd year pro originally drafted by in the 2005 NBA draft, he had a break out season late in 2009 with his highest season ppg average, with 16.2 ppg. Villanueva earned $3.4 million with the Bucks in 2009.
Gordon, 26, is a 5th year shooting guard who averaged 20.7 ppg in 2009 while playing with the Chicago Bulls. Gordon made $6.4 million for the Bulls in 2009.
Speculation is that Richard Hamitlon who is also a shooting guard could be traded. The Pistons had upwards of $20 million in cap space this offseason, they just spent $18 million.
