Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith told the The Orlando Sentinel that the team has contacted free agent forward Rasheed Wallace’s agent Bill Strickland. No word on how far talks have gone.
Smith said that “it just depends on what Rasheed wants to do.”
The Orlando Magic also do not plan on matching the offer made to backup center Marcin Gortat by the Dallas Mavericks.
“Those numbers are a little rich for a back-up center, a guy playing behind my best player (Dwight Howard),” Smith told the paper. “If it’s 5 (million), it puts you in a situation (financially) that you don’t recover from.”
