The story about Tim Tebow for the last year has had little to do with what he’s been able to do at Florida. After he won the Heisman his sophomore year and a National Title last season, what else did he have to prove at the college level?
Even the most ardent Tebow detractor will admit, ‘he’s pretty good’, some say he’s one of the best college players ever. Still the main conversation surrounding Tebow is ‘can he play quarterback in the NFL?’ If you ask Tebow he says he at least wants a shot.

Can Tebow make the NFL leap?
Friday Tebow appeared on Dan Patrick’s radio show where he commented on the big question.
“If it doesn’t work out, if they have to put me down at another position, I don’t care,” Tebow said. “Just give me a chance.” ”I’ll work as hard as possible to be a quarterback,” Tebow said.
Last week Tebow appeared on ESPN Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr.’s radio show and confronted Kiper on his long standing assessment that Tebow can’t be an NFL quarterback.
“You tell me this… What do you think I need to do to be an NFL quarterback? You tell me that,” Tebow asked.
Kiper responded “You’re just too good with the ball in your hands not to think, Could he be Frank Wycheck? Could he be Chris Cooley? That’s why. You’re too good, doing what you do, Tim, running with the football.”
Tebow responded “The quarterback has the ball in his hands every play.”
Indianapolis Colts President Bill Polian told Colts.com that he thinks Tebow would make the perfect fit for a team running the wildcat formation.
“‘I think Tim Tebow is a really good football player,” Polian said. ”If you were going to run the Wildcat offense enough to say that you needed a specialized Wildcat quarterback to do it, who could both run the ball and withstand the pounding that you have to take in the National Football League and throw it effectively from the Wildcat, I think Tim Tebow would be a heck of a guy”.
“I’ve heard other people say he could be a great goal-line and short-yardage running back. I believe that to be the case. I’ve heard people say they think he can be a very good tight end. I believe that would be the case. There’s room for Tim Tebow, if you wanted to install the Wildcat as a part of a specific and integral part of your offense. He’d be perfect for you,” said Polian.
