What constitutes health?  If you’re an Indianapolis Colts star player it definitely means something different from the standard definition in the NFL.

“Health also includes obviously looking at them from a standpoint of what their going to be able to do in the future as well,” Colts coach Jim Caldwell said Monday.

“I am not going tell you exactly whether a guy plays one series or an entire game,” Caldwell added when pressed by reporters.

“For a guy to be excluded from a game it will be a health issue. I can tell you that our preparation is going to be the same. I’m not going to know exactly where we are from a health standpoint probably until the end of the week.”

Thursday night against the Jaguars, the Colts did not rest any offensive starters as many had anticipated, but did rest two star defensive linemen Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney.

The Indianapolis Colts 14-0 play the New York Jets Sunday at 4:15 p.m. ET on CBS

“We’re going to prepare the same we way we’ve been preparing all along. I think that’s a very very important part of what we do I think that’s why our guys have been able to stay sharp and function and stay focused and we keep our edge, and that’s not going to change.”

“We’re still going to base it on the health of each and every one of our players. Medical professionals will certainly give us direction in that. “
