Although Jim Zorn is moving down the coaching hierarchy, you have to believe it’s a sigh of relief to be joining the Baltimore Ravens after two tough years in Washington.
It’s a chance to prove himself again and work with one of the best young quarterbacks in the game in Joe Flacco. Not to mention he’s got a sizable buyout check from Redskins owner Daniel Synder.
The Ravens announced Saturday that Zorn is the team’s new quarterback’s coach, replacing Hue Jackson who left to become the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders.
Quarterback’s coach is a familiar role for Zorn. He spent 11-years as quarterbacks coach for both the Seahawks and the Lions.
“Jim played successfully in the NFL for a long time,” said head coach John Harbaugh. “He knows what quarterbacks go through in this league. He has been a quarterbacks coach and a head coach, and he is familiar with our offense. That’s a great résumé.
