A Tim Tebow commercial with his mother Pam aired Sunday afternoon during CBS’ pregame coverage. it made no mention of abortion or the Tebow’s pro-life stance.
The only thing Mrs. Tebow says remotely relevant about the birth of Tebow is that, “I can remember so many times where I almost lost him, it was so hard.”
It’s unclear if it is the same ad that will be shown during the Super Bowl. So far viewers who saw the early ad are quite surprised at how toned down it is or edited. A source tells us that the ad we’ll see tonight will be different, and will include a more explicit anti-abortion message.
Focus on the Family, the religious group who paid for the ad, originally said the ad would talk about Mrs. Tebow’s decision not to have an abortion while she was was sick and pregnant with Tim and how she chose not to have an abortion against the advise of a doctor.
The group paid $2.5 million for the 30-second spot, likely meaning that tonight’s ad will not have been broadcast prior.
Then again, because of the controversy, the Tebow’s anti-abortion message and commercial became well known in the weeks prior to Super Bowl Sunday so if the the goal was to get Focus on the Family exposure, and it worked.

Tim likes to call his message pro-life, not anti-abortion. The commercial says they are supporting life both before and after birth. A pro-life organization is for something good, but just against something bad.
