The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed defensive end Ziggy Hood, their No. 1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. The terms were not disclosed but it is a 5 year contract.
In 2008, Hood was a Consensus All-Big Twelve Conference first-team selection while at Missouri. Hood started the last 31 (35 total) of the 50 games he played in at Missouri. He finished his career with 170 tackles (98solos), 15.5 sacks for minus 76 yards, 22.5 stops for losses totaling 111 yards and 22 quarterback pressures.
Training camp is set to open for the 2009 Steelers on Friday, July 31 when players must report to Saint Vincent College by 4 p.m.
