Carolina Panthers receiver Steve Smith injured his right shoulder after a collision at practice. X-rays taken Monday night were negative.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Bryant will miss the entire preseason with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Bryant will have his knee scoped and cleaned, a similar procedure Bucaneers defensive back Ronde Barber had when Bucaneers Coach Raheem Morris was the defensive back’s coach. Morris said ” I told A.B. that: ‘I’m not questioning your toughness or anything, but when I coached DBs, Ronde came back the following week.”

Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb sprained his left knee and former Pro Bowl defensive end Trent Cole sprained his left shoulder in practice on Monday. Neither injury is thought to be serious.
Following Sunday night’s Hall of Fame game Tennessee Titans backup QB Vince Young put on a Steve McNair jersey.
“One day he’s definitely going to be in the Hall of Fame, and I wanted to walk around and show that this jersey will be sitting here one day,” Young said.” Reporters asked him about previous statements about his own Hall of Fame future, Young responded “That’s not bold statements, that’s confidence. Basically, what I’m saying is I want to work hard to get into the Hall of Fame.”
Detroit Lions defensive end Jared DeVries will have season-ending surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon. DeVries played and started 10 games in 2008 recording a career-high 45 tackles. as a starter before being placed on the Reserve/Injured list on November 25, 2008 with a broken hand.
Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones missed practice to rest an injured toe, is not expected to miss significant time.
