Favre To Return With Vikings

Tuesday morning has was widely reported that Brett Favre will sign a deal with the Minnesota Vikings. Vikings coach Brad Childress sent an e-mail to the Associated Press confirming that Favre is traveling to  Minnesota to meet with the team. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Favre was on board one of owner Zygi Wilf’s planes Tuesday morning in route to Vikings headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN.

ESPN NFL analyst Chris Carter said on SportsCenter Tuesday Morning that Vikings coach Brad Childress informed Vikings players that Favre will start Friday night against the Chiefs.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Favre will sign a contract for between $10 and $12 million dollars.  Bus Cook, Favre’s agent told Skip Wood of USA Today,  “It’s a done deal, he thinks he still has something left in the tank and I think it will work well.”

Tuesday when coach Brad Childress was asked by reporters if he thought Favre would be a Viking he said, “In a perfect world.” On July 29, Favre told Childress that he would remain retired. ““It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” Favre said. “I didn’t feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable. I would like to thank everyone, including the Packers, Jets and Vikings — but, most importantly, the fans.”
