NASCAR announced today that Randy Hood, crew chief for the No. 01 Chevrolet driven by Danny O’Quinn Jr. in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, has been fined due to rule violations discovered during this past weekend’s event at Daytona International Speedway.
Hood has been fined $2,500 for violating NASCAR’s rules concerning Transmission weight standards, O’Quinns transmission didn’t meet minimum weight. The complete transmission assembly, as raced, must weigh a minimum of 80 pounds. The infractions were discovered on July 3 during post-qualifying inspection.
