The situation between the 49ers and first round draft choice Michael Crabtree could be getting ugly. According to a league insider, Crabtree’s agent Eugune Parker has reportedly told the 49ers that his client will sit out the enter season and re-enter the draft next year if his contract demands are not met. Parker has not made a proposal to the team and the 49ers are standing firm in giving Crabtree a contract worthy of the number 10 overall pick. That decision in itself has led to some heat as Crabtree believes he is worth more than the number 10 pick would command.
This story could get interesting and may just be a ploy by Parker to get the 49ers to cave, as there is no guarantee Crabtree would be picked any higher than 10th in next year’s draft. The 49ers desparate need for a top flight wideout apparently hasn’t led them to making Crabtree a priority.
