Report:Yankees interested in Bay

College Basketball: December 20 Connecticut Vs Gonzaga

By Travis Duncan

Curtis Granderson, Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, where would the Yankees fit Jason Bay into that lineup? In a potential move that would make the Yankees nine look more like an American League All Star lineup , the Boston Herald reports the Yankees have contacted Bay’s agent Joe Urbon.

Last weekend Bay formally rejected the Red Sox’ final offer. Urbon said  ”We have other offers on table that are of greater interest to Jason.”

Monday Boston signed veteran Mike Cameron to a two-year contract, essentially ending Bay’s career in Boston.

Bay is looking for a five-year deal, rejecting a four-year offer from Boston. The Mets and Angels are also considered to be serious contenders to land Bay.

The Yankee could still resign Johnny Damon to play left field or perhaps Mark DeRosa who the Cardinals have yet to resign.
