Let’s drop in as Jason Benetti, Joe Girardi, Lou Merloni and Anthony Rizzo talk about Sonny Gray

Jason Benetti, Joe Girardi, Lou Merloni and the effervescent Anthony Rizzo descended upon the Bronx for the Yankees-Red Sox Wild Card Series last week.

In an exclusive, we bring you almost real excerpts from the NBC/Peacock Broadcast as Red Sox pitcher Sonny Gray dominated the Yankees for almost a full inning.

Let’s listen in as Benetti and Co. become quickly enamored by Mr. Sonny Gray and literally cannot stop saying the veteran pitcher’s full name for almost five minutes straight.

Jason: Welcome to the third inning – we’ve gotten absolutely no where so far, it’s all tied up 0-0. How about this Sonny Gray? It’s our pitcher profile, Joe.

Joe: Sonny Gray – you’re not going to beat at a guy like Sonny Gray

Lou: To your point, Sonny Gray is the bomb dot com – 1.29 ERA

Joe: Is that good? You’re not going to beat Sonny Gray

Jason: Let’s go down to Rizz

Anthony: Sonny Gray wants to beat you

Joe: You’re not going to beat Sonny Gray Rizz

Jason: OK…..let’s play a game where we see how often we say Sonny Gray!

Joe: I love Sonny Gray

Jason: Sonny Gray throws a strike

Lou: Sonny Gray has 6 pitches

Jason: That’s strike 3 for Sonny Gray

Joe: Not bad for a guy with 6 pitches
